Himachal Pradesh is a beautiful state located in the lap of The mighty Himalayas. The snow laden peaks and the green meadows of Himachal are not hidden from the world. Mcleodganj is a beautiful suburb of Dharamshala which is famous for being a Tibetian colony. It is also known as “Little Lhasa” due to the large population of Tibetans residing here. Mcleodganj is named after the British Lieutenant-Governor Of Punjab, Donald Mcleod. It is also the Headquarters of The Tibetian Government-in-exile. Mcleodganj is the residence of His Holiness the 14th Dalai Lama and the site of Tibetian community’s main temple. Thousands of people come round the year to volunteer with the Buddhist community and hang out in the lap of beautiful Dhauladhar ranges.
Despite heavy snowfall between March and December , Mcleodganj receives a large number of visitors throughout the year. Mcleodganj also serves as the host to several foreigners as they feel far away from the hustle and bustle of the cities. The nearest town is Dharamshala and the nearest Airport is Gaggal Airport. It can be accessed by means of a bus or a car. Dharamkot in Mcleodganj also serves as a starting point for the Triund Trek. The other main attractions of Mcleodganj is Bhagsunag waterfall, St Johns Church, trekking, Dal Lake and Namgyal Monastery. Mcleodganj is Himachal’s one of the most irresistible destinations due to its spiritual connection.
